marLux® - Operating Light of the next generation

We have set standards with operating lights using advanced gas discharge technology. We now introduce the light of the next generation: marLux®.

Responding to this situation, KLS Martin has recently developed its new marLux® operating light generation with the express goal in mind of satisfying the ever-growing user needs in diverse surgical fields. This could be mainly achieved through innovations in reflector design and light concentration. As regards the central issue of light source, we have relied on – and systematically pushed forward – the two time-tested operating light technologies that are currently without a doubt the most efficient ones available on the market:

a) halogen lamps for the marLux® H-models
b) high-performance gas discharge lamps for the marLux® X-models

Especially the gas discharge lamps are characterized by a number of advantages:

several times higher luminous efficiency, compared with conventional light sources
significantly reduced heat development
significantly longer life of the discharge lamp, along with significantly lower operating costs

The routine use of gas discharge lamps in daily practice over many years has shown cost savings of up to 80%, compared with conventional lighting systems.

KLS Martin pursues a policy focused on reliability, supported by meaningful innovations. Our endeavors primarily focused on reflector technology along with ergonomics and application flexibility.
