Martin is a major manufacturing and international sales and marketing company located
in the heart of central Europe between the Black Forest and Lake Constance. Since 1923
Martin has been manufacturing surgical instruments for all surgical disciplines. The
product range now also includes OR-Lights, electrosurgical equipment, sterilizing
containers, endoscopic instruments, laser systems, and implants.
Our factories are equipped with the most advanced computer aided design and
manufacturing equipment available. Much of the machinery used to produce our
craniomaxillofacial plating products has been custom made to our specification and is one
of the primary reasons for our unique quality. The use of our state of the art technology
alongside skilled craftsman with generations of surgical instrument making experience has
resulted in the finest array of craniomaxillofacial products in the industry.
In the 60s and 70s Martin began producing maxillofacial instrumentation and
craniomaxillofacial plating systems working in close cooperation with many leading
European maxillofacial surgeons, including Prof. Hugo Obwegeser, Prof. Maxime
Champy, and
Prof. Hans-Dieter Pape. The successful worldwide utilization of Champy's osteosynthesis
technique in the treatment of craniomaxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and
craniofacial surgery has led to revolutionary developments and improvements in
craniomaxillofacial surgery.
Martin's research and development cooperation with many leading European surgeons
resulted in the formation of the S.O.R.G. (Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group) in
1989. The S.O.R.G.'s mission is the advancement of craniomaxillofacial osteosynthesis
techniques through the joint efforts of the academic community and industry.
In 1994 the formation of the KLS-Martin partnership extended to North America our
commitment to the craniomaxillofacial surgical specialties. Our goal is to build a company
responsive in the development of innovative products for oral, plastic and
craniomaxillofacial surgery. We have assembled a nationwide team of professional
consultants dedicated to your surgical specialty. Our U.S. office is located in
Jacksonville, Florida where our management and customer service team is eager to serve
